disappearing presidential candidates

Diana Barahona writes that "Dennis Kucinich, John Edwards, and Ralph Nader" "were disappeared from the 2008 presidential race as quickly and definitively as any Soviet leader who fell into disfavor with Stalin" I am puzzled by the egregious comparison, of the likely result of Stalin's disfavor (although one can imagine those who truly do suffer under currently reigning psychopaths, wishing to exchange their fate for exile and hard labor, even for execution), with such official persecutions as Ralph Nader has endured, let alone with the compliant comfort of Kucininch* or of Edwards. *Kucinich "disappeared" himself from the '04 race at that year's Dem. party convention, -- where an overwhelming majority of the delegates arrived, pledged to nominate a peace candidate. Rather than put himself forward as that candidate, or fight for a peace platform (or even a peace plank), Kucinich withdrew his name from consideration in favor of Kerry.

All co-publishers comment under their real name, have contributed resources or volunteer labor to this project, have filled out this application and agreed to some simple guidelines about commenting.

Narco News has recently opened its comments section for submissions to moderated comments (that’s this box, here) by everybody else. Narco News reserves the right to reject any comment for any reason, so, especially if you choose to comment anonymously, the burden is on you to make your comment interesting and relevant. That said, as you can see, hundreds of comments are approved each week here. Good luck in your comment submission!
