A lot has happened over past 6 months re. the Blackfire case. Narco news might want to revisit the killing of don Mariano (1st Anniversary on Nov. 27 many activities planned in Chicomuselo), and what Blackfire has been up to:

-Blackfire has threatened Mexico with a NAFTA Chapter 11 for $800 million

-9 Canadian organizations have laid a formal complaint against Blackfire with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police under the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act that Canada is a signatory to

-Blackfire succeeded to get a Chiapas court to overturn the government order closing the barite mine on environmental grounds, and is now free to resume operatios..

-Jose Luis Abarca Montejo (son of the murdered activist) travelled to Canada to support legislation before Canadian Parliament to reign in Canadian mining companies-Bills C-300 and C-354

-Other municipalities in Chiapas have protested Blackfire's attempt to open gold mines in their area

-More protests in Chicomuselo planned for remainder of 2010
