All elections are legal if a rightwing oligarchy stages them
Submitted on November 7th, 2009 by Frank Balzer (not verified)Remember, the US establishment is famous for promoting "demonstration" elections. During the '80s, the US helped stage the various oligarchical elections in El Salvador.
Of course, leftist and centrists politicians lost their lives if they actually campaigned.
The El Salvadore example is one of many (think "Haiti").
So it's not inconceivable that the US elite and its supine corporate media will put a similar spin on the forthcoming selections. In fact, one of the political parties will probably forward a candidate who will stump Obama-like speeches.
And the candidate who delivers Obama-like campaign speeches promising change will, instead, work to systematize and hone a more efficient plundering machine: a modernized machine that better vacumes up the wealth produced by the nations' lower-classes into the hands of the deserving rich.
