DEA promise

Hi Al,

In regard to Holder breaking his promise, my understanding was that the DEA would raid only if they thought state law was being violated. It said in the article that the dispensary was accused of not paying taxes. Are you saying that that is simply the excuse they will be using in the future?

@ Jeremy

Jeremy - We don't know yet because the warrant is sealed. I'm sure it will come out in the wash, though, and I'll have plenty to say about it once all the facts are in hand.

Aaaargggh...

I was so enjoying Obama's Town Meeting until he came to that question and not only dismissed it as... what? some kind of joke? a bunch of pothead teenagers stuffing the question ballot? but he made fun of it and got everyone to laugh along. A friend of mine says he has to do this now, because to do anything else, before his budget is passed, would be political suicide. But honestly, I rarely get mad, and I felt like throwing something at my flat panel. I wrote the White House a strongly worded letter... from a 53-year old mother and voter, not a teenage pot smoker (as if I'm somehow more important... but I think they think so).

What can be done to make Obama take notice of this issue? This is the second time he has dismissed the question? Or do we just wait awhile longer as my friend suggests...

All co-publishers comment under their real name, have contributed resources or volunteer labor to this project, have filled out this application and agreed to some simple guidelines about commenting.

Narco News has recently opened its comments section for submissions to moderated comments (that’s this box, here) by everybody else. More than 95 percent of all submitted comments are typically approved, because they are on-topic, coherent, don’t spread false claims or rumors, don’t gratuitously insult other commenters, and don’t engage in commerce, spam or otherwise hijack the thread. Narco News reserves the right to reject any comment for any reason, so, especially if you choose to comment anonymously, the burden is on you to make your comment interesting and relevant. That said, as you can see, hundreds of comments are approved each week here. Good luck in your comment submission!
