Good morning from the Longest Walk in the woods of Pennsylvania

Video shows Columbus Ohio police attacking Long Walker

Good morning from Raccoon Creek State Park, where the Longest Walk Northern Route is camped. The Pennsylvania governor’s representative met the walkers at the Pennsylvania border with a proclamation in support of the walkers. The warm welcome to Pennsylvania came after walkers were attacked by Columbus Ohio police and two walkers sustained minor injuries, cuts and bruises.

We’re in a beautiful camp in the woods. The Peace and Dignity Runners will meet with the Longest Walk 2 Northern Route in Pittsburgh around June 18. The Longest Walk walkers are out on the road this morning in the Pittsburgh area. The walkers and runners had a yummy dinner of canned Spaghetti-Os last night, so for those wanting to help, this would be a good time to bring out a home cooked meal if you can.

Thanks again to all of you who donated gas money to move the support vehicles here from Ohio.

Please read the new story from Columbus Ohio’s “Other Paper,” and the interview with Luv the Mezenger about the police attack. Thanks to the Other Paper for actually interviewing Luv and publishing the news story, while the other mainstream papers in Ohio censored the police attack. Listen live to Longest Walk Talk Radio at 1 pm Eastern, 12 Central, 11 Mountain, 10 am Pacific. We had great interviews yesterday with Woolsey, Ute runner Adriano Buckskin and Marie Littlemoon. We have archived 400 audios, interviews and drum songs, since we left Alcatraz.

Please note that although Indian Country Today has a report on the Ohio police incident, the newspaper did not have a reporter present on the Longest Walk Northern Route to gather the actual facts or do the interviews here.

Longest Walk Northern Route: Video of Columbus Ohio police throwing Luv the Mezenger to the ground and tackling him
This video by Long Walker Marie Littlemoon begins just after a taser was pointed between the eyes of Michael Lane, an attorney. The video shows Columbus Ohio police tackling Luv the Mezenger to the ground, where Luv sustained cuts and bruises. During the video you can hear the Longest Walk children crying and Yukio, Japanese Long Walker, drumming for peace:
