Robertson: Asesinemos a Hugo Chávez

El Televangelista Pat “Dios me dijo que Bush va a ganar” Robertson pidió ayer el asesinato del democráticamente electo (es gracioso cuán a menudo el hecho necesita ser recordado) Presidente de de Venezuela Hugo Chávez por parte de los “operativos encubiertos” de Estados Unidos. El programa televisivo de Robertson, “El club de los 700”, tiene una audiencia de millones de personas, está disponible en más del 95 por ciento de los hogares estadounidenses (de acuerdo con el sitio web del programa) y ha recibido las visitas de figuras políticas nacionales tales como Tom Delay, Bill Frist, Al Gore, Joe Lieberman, Ronald Reagan y más. En otras palabras, el establishment de Washington, especialmente el sector dominante en el Partido Republicano, lo toman seriamente. De la transcripción de Media Matters (un clip del programa está disponible también en ese enlace):

“Saben, no sé sobre esta doctrina del asesinato, pero si él piensa que estamos tratando de asesinarlo, creo que realmente deberíamos ir adelante y hacerlo. Es mucho más barato que iniciar una guerra. Y no creo que ningún embarque de petróleo se detendría… tenemos la posibilidad de sacarlo, y creo que ha llegado el momento de que ejerzamos esa posibilidad. No necesitamos otra guerra de 200 mil millones de dólares para deshacernos de un, ustedes saben, dictador de mano dura. Es mucho más fácil tener algunos operativos encubiertos para hacer el trabajo y llevarlo adelante”.

Estos está muy en la línea con el desdén para la democracia de Robertson e, interesantemente, para la el Departamento de Estado, de la que a menudo se burla alabando a la CIA.

Por lo que, Pat, ¿a quién más asesinaría Jesús?

What were the details of the original Chávez golpe

It's being discussed on newsroom-l with reference to his complicity in the 18 deaths, but I haven't been able to find a detailed description of who got killed, why and by whom. I'll appreciate any help you might be able to offer on this.
