Either Latinos, SPLC, or Obama (or all three) get Lou Dobbs fired
Looks like finally Latinos have become a political force in the United States, because some of us (not me personally) were able to mobilize, despite lack of mainstream media coverage, and exert enough pressure to get Lou Dobbs fired from CNN. Here is a link to an article that appeared just previous to his ''quitting'': http://www.progressive.org/node/138133
O'reilly from Fox News credited the firing to the Southern Poverty Law Center and had to dole out 10 grand for having lost a bet (is that legal outside a casino?), who apparently were also critics of Dobbs. During his show, he told a SPLC representative words to the effect that ''It wasn't just SPLC's doing but many other factors also, but I'll make the donation anyway'' (eg: the bet was that he would donate the 10 grand to SPLC's favorite charity if they were able to get Dobbs fired).
But to get back to Dobbs, he appeared on Telemundo (an NBC affiliate) a couple of days ago in some show called 'Al Rojo Vivo' and basically just denied he ever said anything against illegals; but I mean, I could not watch CNN because his vitriolic attacks on immigrants were just over the top in my book (my own private boycott, if you will). The guy is a hater, period. Interestingly, O'reilly invited Dobbs to become a regular on his show (CNN showed a clip on one of their Sunday morning shows). Can you say: ''Birds of a feather flock together''?? I guess I'll have to boycott O'reilly, now.
As a side note, Dobbs also questioned Obama's citizenship (see: http://washingtonindependent.com/51591/lou-dobbs-hey-why-wont-obama-produce-his-birth-certificate), so I don't know if that wasn't the main reason he was let go... I can fathom Obama being able to get Dobbs fired, if you get my drift. There were also some reports that he got paid either 8 or 9 million by CNN to quit but that's neither here nor there. He probably makes that just from stocks in a month...
