Venezuela's Possible Black Golden Future

While the Venezuelan ship of state, for a while, still encounters itself in the revolutionary doldrums, let us look at our black, golden future.

Sometime ago, Alfredo Bremont wrote a most interesting commentary: "The US shooting Venezuelan (Russian built) MIGs could be really dangerous".
http://www.vheadline.com/readnews.asp?id=24175

He summed up the current politico-economic global context of the Venezuelan Bolivarian Revolution as follows:

"In this decade black gold has displaced the yellow one ... it is no longer how many billions of gold bars that a nation has in his national bank reserves that signify anything, but rather how many billions of petrol reserves you have. ... The Venezuelan bolivar should break away from parity with the US dollar and create its own measure ... Venezuelan oil reserves are valued more than gold bullion in a bank." Certainly the above is true, but we are still far away from creating our "own measure": A South American Bank. Furthermore, it is not just a simple matter of quantitative "inversion":

" ... in our Venezuelan reality a US$ is worth 2,000 bolivares ... you need, more bolivares for a dollar than dollars for a bolivar." ... that is, to decree that a bolivar is worth US$ 2,000.

In his own words, fully aware of this, Alfredo explained the qualitative nature of international finance very well. Furthermore, he told us that "to win in this global 21st century you had better reflect."

To reflect scientifically means to think, to theorize, to philosophize ... to see the "big picture" in the "small raindrop".  This implies to look before you leap, to ask questions before you shoot. Now, let us look at possible future consequences of such a delicate scenario.

From the wilderness, in an article, "As The World Burns", Michael C. Ruppert, a serious, world-renowned political analyst, last year made us aware of the real, true historical context of the current global situation, and what the run on the dollar would imply.

One of the major reasons why Iraq was attacked was precisely that she was switching to a future Petro-Euro. Iran also has this in mind, the current reaction of the USA is obvious. Now, imagine the dramatic situation, if Venezuela should also threaten with a similar move, or even with an alternative "South" world currency, for example, with a "chavez", that is worth one Euro.

Let us quote extensively, what Ruppert has to say, to see the vast measures of such an attack against North American corporate imperialism:

"...  when the run on the dollar begins, OPEC will inevitably at some point switch its pricing to the Euro, which the entire world is wrangling - much to Europe's chagrin - into not only a safe-haven currency, but a profitable one. The next house is being built before the old one is abandoned."

How would the Bush clique take this?

Michael Ruppert explains:

"... it will be as if the rest of the world declared war on the United States of America by launching a missile, dropping a bomb, or landing an army at Bethany Beach, Delaware. That this will lead ultimately to widespread global warfare seems certain. This is exactly the way the administration is setting it up to appear to the American people. Think of 9/11 times fifty."

And, what would be the argument of Big Brother? Simply:  "They hate us because of our freedom."

All this would be tantamount to a direct physical attack, the military results would be devastating. The American economy would be in shambles, and the innocent, ordinary American people would experience a domestic Fallujah. Of course, in such a scenario, for the time being, Iran or Venezuela would get a new lease of life. It would be suicide for North American to invade them.

Generally, as Clausewitz already indicated, when world powers collapse, a dangerous vacuum results, that immediately will prompt bloody, genocidal wars, fierce military competition among the future masters of the globe. In this case, it will be the "scramble for black gold", for energetic resources, and there we will go again. And, like elsewhere, also Venezuela's future will become black and golden at the same time.

What this implies immediately, perhaps in 2005 already, on November 23, 2004, the Boston Herald told us what Stephen Roach, the economic "think-tank" of Morgan Stanley, has to say:

"Roach met selected groups of fund managers downtown last week, including a group at Fidelity. His prediction: America has no better than a 10 per cent chance of avoiding economic "Armageddon."

"Press were not allowed into the meetings. But the Herald has obtained a copy of Roach's presentation. A stunned source who was at one meeting said, "it struck me how extreme he was - much more, it seemed to me, than in public."

"Roach sees a 30 percent chance of a slump soon and a 60 per cent chance that "we'll muddle through for a while and delay the eventual Armageddon."

What Roach really said, Michael Ruppert tells us:

"The core of Roach's analysis is the simple fact that, in order to keep the US economy afloat and maintain even moderate faith in the dollar, it must secure $2.8 billion dollars a day in foreign direct investment (FDI), largely through the purchase of Treasury notes to service its bubble economy. Other sources have placed the required FDI at $4 billion per day."

This critical global situation

Another expert in world critical affairs, Thomas Bearden, long ago already has explained the capitalist, corporate, energetic reasons for the establishment of the current "Fourth Empire" and why the issues at stake are so urgent for the survival of the current "world order", for "world peace." In other words, he indicated why Iraq and Afghanistan needed urgent "regime change," why Iran and Venezuela are currently  on the black golden list, and why President Chavez' "understanding of democracy" is "out-dated", and thus, why he himself appears on the list of US paramilitary "Death Squads".

Unless, an economic miracle occurs, as follows, Bearden predicts the global effects of an inevitable, inexorable collapse of the US economy, and therewith of the international world market, that is, of the capitalist, imperialist mode of production and destruction:

"The resulting great Armageddon will destroy civilization as we know it, and perhaps most of the biosphere, at least for many decades.

"My personal estimate is that ... beginning about 2007 ... on our present energy course we will have reached an 80% probability of this 'final destruction of civilization itself' scenario occurring at any time, with the probability slowly increasing as time passes. One may argue about the timing, slide the dates a year or two, etc., but the basic premise and general time frame holds. We face not only a world economic crisis, but also a world destruction crisis."
http://www.vheadline.com/readnews.asp?id=22749

Well, we have passed the critical year, 2003, the following awaited and still awaits us:

"The 2003 date appears to be the critical "point of no return" for the survival of civilization as we have known it. Reaching that point, say, in 2005 will not solve the crisis in time, and the collapse of the world economy as well as the destruction of civilization and the biosphere will still almost certainly occur, even with the solutions in hand. ... Eerily, this very threat now looms in our not too distant future, due in large part to the increasing and unbearable stresses that escalating oil prices will elicit. So about seven years or so from now, we will enter the period of the threat of the Final Armageddon, unless we do something very, very quickly now, to totally and permanently solve the present "electrical energy from oil crisis."

Of course, contrary to Michael Ruppert, Stephen Roach and Thomas Bearden are not socialists, are not permanent world revolutionaries, they are hard-core adherents of the global capitalist system, they want and wish the best for Corporate America. All the more, their warnings and projections have to be taken very seriously.

To make a short story even shorter, mankind is in serious, immediate trouble.

However, finally, let Alfredo himself reflect, explain to us, to Venezuela, to the world, the revolutionary ray of militant, optimistic hope that could save us.

He states that once

"... wealth is democratically shared among the population, an unpolluted environment will lift human intellect to a larger spectrum, easing pressure on the multitude of humans and their interdependent living organisms. This synchronized existence with nature can help you live longer as it expands your mind."

Black Gold and its future implications

Before reading   Dr. Lee’s report, and the supporting links, I wasn’t even aware of what a major player Venezuela is today in the black gold market.  My unawareness isn’t out of ignorance or indifference to global matters, up here that isn’t news.  Now if a Venezuelan woman would have had 7 babies at once, especially if one had one eye in the middle of its head, or some other distinct, morbid attraction worthy of a sound bite, that would be considered newsworthy here.

Michael C. Ruppert predicts Bush’s rhetorical rationalization of “They hate us because of our freedom.” http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/120104_w orld_burns.shtml    This is an illusion a majority of the U.S. lives in daily, but we are not free, not in any since of the word.  This propaganda is a trick the Bush administration uses to justify their attacks on other countries.  Their other justification for violating global laws and human rights is morals and values.  So watch out,  the rest of the world not only threatens freedom of the reality Bush and his cronies live in, but immorality, as they define it, is also a threat viable enough to destroy  and eliminate.

My belief system is rooted in Native American principles.  There is a circle that all life revolves in, most commonly referred to as the Medicine Wheel.  If we live in balance with the seven directions of that wheel, East, West, North, South, the Sky, Mother Earth, and our inner selves, then we have harmony peace and hope.
Our capitalist populations have totally lost any concept of this, if they ever had it.  They live a linear path towards more and more materialism.  As Franz J.T. Lee documents with his sources and his own reflections, this path is bound to lead to an Armageddon.

Ruppert’s article outlines seven steps we can all take to at least give us some chance of survival of such a disaster.  They are wise words to live by and are the first step in bringing us back into the circle and ultimate back into balance with our planet and our inner selves.

If an Armageddon is a product it is my hope that there are enough of us living within the circle of life to leave something to sustain and recover what is left of our planet and biosphere.  It is certainly a goal I have for my children and grandchildren to take into the future years.

Since this is my first submission to Narcosphere, I would like to take the opportunity to say how grateful I am for another source of true news, just feeding my brain with this Dr, Lee’s piece here and the links in it that educated me even further is empowering. It is a gift to be a part of this forum and the revolution I hope it achieves.
