DHS: Real National Security Threat is Within Our Racial Profiling System

COMMENTARY:

DHS' Michael Chertoff is now claiming that one of the biggest threats to U.S. security may now come from whithin Europe.  He may be right.

However, the problem is that we may have already in the United States,  thousands of Whites, with blue or green eyes, blond hair that look very much Americans, but who are very much Europeans and who speaks very limited English.

Case in point, last week while shopping at a local clothing store, I approached a group of individuals who were shopping in our small Southwest Arizona city of Yuma and asked them if a suit I was buying matched a particular tie.  One of them replied, "sorry....no English" - For sure I believed they were Americans.  Whites, blond, in short your typical Male American.  There was one distinctive problem, their accent sounded like German.  How do I know?  I am a former US Immigration & Naturalization criminal investigator.

I frequently travel from Yuma, AZ to San Diego, CA or Phoenix, AZ for business.  There are U.S. Border Patrol fixed check-points West and East bond on Intersate 8.  The same old unlawful practice: racial profiling for intensive questioning to those who appear Latinos, Arabs, Asians etc.

Unfortunately, but I cannot help but observe how the US Border Patrol Agents manning the traffic lanes gives the green lights to almost all of those who appear to be Whites US born people.  They don't even have to roll down their windows.  In contrast, if you are a minority, you must roll down your window and declare your citizenship and/or produce valid immigration documents.

I wonder how many European terrorists may be already in the United States roaming freely our freeways laughing at our Border Patrol agents manning our check-point lanes.  Mr. Chertoff must assess how these U.S. Border Patrol check-point policies and procedures are being implemented.  If they are based on racial profiling, all they are going to get is your typical working illegal alien from Mexico or other Latin country....or may be they will get some dope......just the usual stuff that it has been with us for years.

About if our finest US Border Patrol agents  start catching some real European terrorists carrying explosives, bombs, etc.?

LONDON (Reuters) - U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said on Wednesday that one of the biggest threats to U.S. security may now come from within Europe.

In an interview with BBC radio, Chertoff said that American authorities were becoming increasingly aware of a real risk of Europe becoming a "platform for terrorists".

He said it was important to step up security checks on passengers coming from Europe to the United States.
