Reporter's Notebook: Narco News

Welcome to the Upgraded Narcosphere!

Thanks to everyone for having patience with us as we worked through all the problems that come along when changing to a new system. Now, I'm glad to say that we've worked through the major issues (knock on wood) and are now ready to introduce our copublishers and readers to some new features of the Narcosphere.

All readers will notice the new style to the Narcosphere as well as the improved readability and organization of our content.

As for copublishers, as I am sure many of you have already noticed, we have added a new text toolbar that allows you to style your Notebook entry to your liking. It's similar to many other text toolbars used on other sites on blogs. Features include bold, underline, italics and strikeout among many other features like alignment and bulleted lists.

We've also brought your copublishers profile into more prominent position. Now, when someone clicks on your Reporter Notebook, there will be a small side column with the info from your personal profile. You can set your profile by clicking on "My account" then clicking on the e"Edit" tab. Click on "Additional user information" and you will find an area to put in your profile, or biography.

Copublishers will also notice that they can create something called a "Notebook Link." As with the profiles mentioned above, these Notebook Links will also be displayed in a side column when your Reporter's Notebook is viewed.

We recently sent emails to all our copublishers with instructions on how to log in to the new system. If you are a copublisher who can no longer access their account and that did not receive an email last week, please email me at webmaster@narconews.com and I'll get you squared away.

Enjoy the new Narcosphere! If any problems are noticed, please email me at webmaster@narconews.com

Special Thanks

Thanks to Dan Feder and Chris Fee for their large role in getting the upgraded Narcopshere online and functioning. Dan is largely responsible for our slick yet simple design and layout. He also was instrumental with the integration between the old and new systems.

Chris Fee helped to test and troubleshoot the Narcosphere at all stages of the upgrade process.

Without both of their help the upgrade process would have been much more difficult and stressful. Thanks guys!
