Reporter's Notebook: Ron Smith

Brace yourselves for the latest propaganda campaign...

Wait for it... Ahh, yes, American Experience presents an excellent pre-invasion documentary smearing, once again, the administration of Fidel Castro in Cuba. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/castro/index.html

I saw an ad for this last night on OPB, the imagery was straight out of the 50's, with Fidel's mug, then the word DICTATOR emblazoned across the screen in flaming red letters. The film is made, of course, by a miami exile, who decries the loss of economic freedom in Cuba during the Cuban revolution. Seems to me, if the rest of Latin America is any experience, the economic freedom she misses is expressed in the vast majority as the right to extreme poverty, lack of food, housing, clothing, health care, and education. This is the kind of freedom we can do without. I recommend all américans go to the above site and  answer their little poll, just so the neocons understand they don't have complete support.
