I wonder

if my Granddaughter would forgive me if I postponed our visit for a week? Doubt it, she has been waiting all year and she wants to come to the beach. I really want to go to Netroots.

Dkos--Blech! That place is soooooo crazy right now, it is like a war zone. Looks like you ruffled some feathers today, good for you.

Al- oh really, "verrrry interesting audio file or two." I think I might know who could be speaking on them. :-)) I hope those cool button and stickers are all over the place.

I love House!!! My favorite show on the boob tube.

Take cell phone pics & plz post online

Please go, Christ ;)  And take lots of cellphone pics, or whatever camera you use, and keep us updated at Fieldhands.  Can't wait to see the reactions when the Petition is presented to Dean & Pelosi!!

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Al got his credentials b4 Netroots!!!!

I am so... looking forward to this!

Burnt Orange is a go to place for info, really great people on that blog...it was amazing during the primary in Texas. Glad the fieldhands are doing this with them. See you all there !

I'll have a nice cold one that night and think of you all in my home state.  Give 'em hell!

PS to our talented artists out there: anyone want to make a button to wear to Netroots that says:

I donate to Obama

Kos it's the right thing to do

Allan's on fire tonight!!

Whoa - great one Allan!!!

Petition is picking up again!

Christi, Pam - it's working!!!! 1387 now  - 7/9/08  from ALL over!!!

YES WE CAN!!!!

Teddy's vote

First, have a great time, and I second Allan's motion.  Great idea, great button.

Secondly, the vote Kennedy made it for may go pretty unnoticed, but it is very important.  A disclaimer first.  I work for an health insurance company doing contracting of physicians for networks.  Teddy's vote actually will cost insurance companies money.  Mosdt of the time, what an insurance company reimburses a physician for being in network is based upon a percentage of the Medicare reimbursement.  Thus if medicare reimbursement drops so does what the insurance company pays.

By stopping the reduction in Medicare reimbursement, it keeps insurance reimbursement up.  If reimbursement dropped the insurance company saves money (I doubt they would lower premiums).  Of course, it then causes many doctors to either opt out of the Medicare system or out of insurance plans.  This would result in actually higher health care costs.

So, way to go Teddy.

Thanks for the

Thanks for the invitation...I'm looking forward to Netroots, and to coming back to Texas (I've been gone for almost 10 years).  It'll be great to be amongst a crowd of crazy progressives!

RE: Christi

I signed! And thanks for your hard work for AL--we need him!

Keep us updated!

Sorry I will miss the

Sorry I will miss the party!  Austin is my hometown and the Cedar Door is great.  If you're going to be there, be sure to catch some live music while you're there-- on any given night, you can find great music...standouts include the Saxon Pub on Lamar, the Continental Club on Congress and Antone's on Sixth Street.  Have fun!

Please...

Hoist one (or myriad) for me.  Bottoms up.  Wish I could be there in flesh as well as spirit.

Al, it is doubtful that I

Al, it is doubtful that I can make it to this meeting. Good luck and enjoy your meeting.  Hope you make some good connections there.

VP

Anyone know when this summer we will hear the answer to who the VPs are?  I looked and Edwards had been chosen by this time in '04.  I just had to laugh at the coverage of Obama going to that meeting in DC to presumably meet with his VP team.  OMG...Obama is working on selecting a VP!!

be there or...

There are times I love living in Austin!  Looking forward to seeing everybody who can make it.

I'll have one beer in honor of each Field Hand who wants to be there but won't.  So if you can't make it, please say so in the comments!  Thanks for helping me get tanked.

I wonder how many revolutions got fatally derailed by beerful revelry.

cedar door

Longtime lurker. Make sure to have a Texas Martini at the Door. I was hoping to make it back to my previous hometown, but couldn't do it this year. Also, check out the Salt Lick for bbq if you have time (about a 30 min. drive out of town) and Maudie's for Tex-Mex.

Matt Smith

Please have a beer for me, it is official, I can not make it. I will be in Hawaii though so it's not all bad. I will also have my trusy laptop to stay up on the going's on.
